Futures Markets Trend Zone EOW 10/30/20

I look for pullback trade set-ups in trending markets and one helpful tool I use is my trend map. I follow 37 markets and break down each market into 5 categories:

double green (very bullish)(5)
single green (bullish)(4)
yellow (neutral or sideways)(3)
single red (bearish)(2)
double red (very bearish)(1)

Here is my futures markets Trend Zone as of Friday’s close. The basket of markets I watch took a more bearish tone before the election. We went from 11 markets sporting a 2 or a 1 on the spectrum up to 19. Next week should be interesting. Happy Halloween!

The biggest movers were RBOB (RB) and Orange Juice (OJ). Both moved down 2 slots from bullish to bearish. This could signal a longer term change in trend.

Futures Markets Trend Zone EOW 10/9/20

I look for pullback trade set-ups in trending markets and one helpful tool I use is my trend map. I follow 37 markets and break down each market into 5 categories:

double green (very bullish)(5)
single green (bullish)(4)
yellow (neutral or sideways)(3)
single red (bearish)(2)
double red (very bearish)(1)

Here is my futures markets Trend Zone as of Friday’s close. The basket of markets I watch bounced back to the bullish side of the spectrum. We went from 11 markets sporting a 4 or 5 on the spectrum up to 17. No individual markets made any big trend changes.

A quick review of the list below shows the bullish markets consist primarily of the grains, indexes and meats. The currencies are trying to resume their bullish trend. The have moved from the bearish end back to neutral after spending many weeks on the bullish end. Last week I asked: will the short term regain its dominance? Or will the longer term strength of these markets win out. It’s looking like the longer term strength is gaining steam. Let’s see if this week shows any follow through.

30 Year Bond Futures

The 30 Year Bond futures have reached an interesting area today. Price action found support at previous support from 6-16 and 8-28. Also, it found support on its VSCORE (measures standard deviations of VWAP anchored to 9-2-19) at levels of previous buying. Large Traders are also holding record short positions, which is bullish. Finally, this market could be forming a minor low pattern. If we get a push above 175 3/32, then we could see upside follow through. The resistance test would come between 175 12/32 to 177 24/32. Sometimes it can take just a few days for the COT extreme to play out. Sometimes it can take weeks. Either way, this is a market worth watching for more upside.
